Who is Lil Miss Bumba?
Sarah Ann (Saz) is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. She is a Dance Alchemist, Holistic Embodiment & Sound Practitioner, Fitness Professional (because apparently “Booty Shaker” isn't an official job title!), Body & Energy Worker, Dragon Energy Space Holder, Belly Dancer, Burlesquer, Libran Harmoniser & Galactic Gong Mistress!
With over 12 years of experience in guiding, teaching & delivering various dance formats, she loves to create bespoke holistic dance, fitness & sound experiences in safe spaces, to facilitate your opportunity to explore health & healing whilst embracing the skin you're in & making new friends.
What’s her story?
Whilst working in a completely different career, she reignited her deeply rooted passion for dance, which led to the start of building her own dance & sound community!
"I used to be a private investigator, having moved to a town where I didn't know anyone, gained a few extra curves & hated the gym. I'd heard about Zumba, so I decided to give it a whirl. As soon as the music began, I loved it. A total party atmosphere & my hips started to move in even more ways than I never knew they could!
Whilst making new friends, she toned up those curves, learnt to love her wobbly thighs & enjoyed shaking her jiggly bits!
She says, “If it wobbles, it’s meant to!”
Her love for her newfound hobby soon turned into passion & a full-time career, having qualified in various dance & fitness formats, finally bringing all of her experience & offerings together as a community that is Bumba Fitness!
Her work also helps to fuel her soul's deep desire to travel! You'll find her delivering belly dance workshops, performing or facilitating gong baths at festivals & retreats, exploring all over the UK & around the world, in her cosy camper van.
She also enjoys kayaking, paddle boarding, wild swimming, exploring lucid dreaming, writing, occasionally getting her kit off, all in the tasteful art form of burlesque, all whilst advocating body confidence!
She also loves exploring warmer climates with budget travel adventures, moonlit fires, starry nights, roller blading, hiking, hugging trees & making new friends.
She realised her previous career was no longer serving her soul, but believes this provided many foundations & skills in her work, for what she sometimes lovingly now refers to as “dance therapy”.
Lil Miss Bumba describes perceiving “dance” like paintings or drawings, often seeing colours, shapes & patterns!
An opportunity to connect your mind, body & spirit through surrendering to “being in the moment”. It's power. Joy. Healing. Medicine! It can be a tool for leaning into your edges, dancing with your egos, inviting in your shadows, breaking through resistance, telling a story & shifting blocks.
When you surrender fully, letting go of your ego (or perhaps inviting it in), simply leaning into the rhythm, you become the dance.
You are the dance!
“When I'm dancing, I have the best relationship with myself. I am the best version of myself. I am fluid. Free. Just ME!”
Lil Miss Bumba likes to remind those she meets along her path that
"Life's a Dance. So Play & Move While The Music's Still Pumping!"
